  • 2.0 out of 5 stars from Kelly Vander Woude -- Good...but I have a major issue : I thought this was good and appreciated how the author used Buddhism to help with this understanding of self-compassion and loving yourself and forgiving yourself. There is so much hurt and brokenness in this world that comes from outside and within - and this CLEARLY is a huge issue for nearly everyone. So what is my issue? While the author mentions a few authors and their work - 99.9% of what they state in "studies have shown" or "research finds" - nothing is quoted, nothing is cited, nothing points to anything. So unless this author has done all those research themselves...which they would have put out there for peer groups to review - I simply have a MASSIVE issue with stating "facts" that are not backed up. And again, while they use Buddhism and its teaching for SOME of this - it's not used for all. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2021 )
